Youth Club

Dóchas don Óige Youth Club is run from 7pm to 9pm from November through to April.

The youth club

It is run by two people who supervise the space for young people from around the city to enjoy the facilities in a safe, substance-free and less structured environment than the day programme offers.

The activities on offer range from indoor activities to outdoor pursuits. During the winter the young people enjoy tea & biscuits, play pool, table-tennis, darts, cards and watch TV. As the days lengthen and the temperatures creep upward, the young people avail of the bicycles and water sport equipment on offer.

All young people over 15 years of age are welcome. A €2 per week contribution and mutual respect are all that are expected to enjoy the facilities.

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who donated to our Free Youth Counselling Service during the Christmas break from as far away as the US. We are so grateful for your kindness 🎁And a second thank you to the Galway Children and Young Peoples Services Committee for additional funding for Counselling in Athenry, Gort and Connemara. This will make a big difference 🙏And the result....we are delighted to extend Free Youth Counselling to new areas of Galway and to more young people 📣Due to Covid-19 our experienced, qualified psychotherapists are seeing young people online until we can safely return to face to face sessions. If you would like to book please contact Aisling on 📱 086 024 7763 or 📧 aisling.dermody@youthworkgalway.ie and remember you don't need a clinical (GP) referral. The service is open to young people in Galway City and County aged between 12 and 21 years. #BeActiveNo matter what our mobility and fitness levels, simply getting up and moving and adding a little exercise to our day can make a big difference to how we're feeling during tough times. Tap into the many free online work outs available at the moment, or even get outside if possible for a quick walk! A little activity can go a long way! #fivewaysfortoughtimes ... See MoreSee Less
